summer peach smoothie
At MELA, we love starting the day with a delicious and nutrient dense smoothie. We use the same base recipe to ensure an optimal balance of nutrients while keeping our smoothies satiating and energizing, but love to mix it up with seasonal fruit. Lately, we can’t get enough of this summer peach smoothie - it’s so good, especially if you can get your hands on some local ripe peaches. Enjoy!
Summer peach smoothie
Serves 1
Ingredients
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (we love Malk and Califia organic)
1 serving vanilla protein powder (we love Livwell and Be Well by Kelly)
1 small peach (fresh or frozen), or 3/4 of a large, cored and chopped
1 tablespoon unsweetened almond butter or nut butter of choice
A few shakes of cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
1-2 handfuls of spinach
Small handful of ice
optional: 1 scoop collagen peptides (we love Norcal) for an extra 10g of protein
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender. Enjoy immeditely!
